When I started this year I, gave myself that new year new, me resolution to get fitter and loose some weight. Every woman does this year after year and without doubt, probably slips back into the chocolate induced coma we all love. My January started off slow, I couldn’t start dieting when I still had a mound of chocolate and biscuits to go through could I? But I was unhappy with my body, my belly was looking more like Buddha’s and less like Jennifer Lopez, So I joined the gym and got into it. My boyfriend wanted to put bets on how long I would last, so here I am still proving him wrong.
Today I weighed myself, I’ve been exercising and watching what I eat for around 3 weeks now and I didn’t feel like I was making progress and was slowly loosing motivation. But today is a great day, I managed to loose 5lbs. I’m super happy and I’m eager to loose more. I think this is the boost I needed to get me stuck into it. I keep sneaking the odd chocolate bar and fizzy drink but a salad has become a normal meal in my diet now and I’m managing to drink over 2 liters of water a day. This is something I’m super happy about and need to share with you all and how my experience has gone so far.
5 things I’ve noticed a change in
1 – I seem to have more energy and feel less sluggish, I think this is because I’m eating less gluten and carbs in my diet as these things can make you feel lethargic. Also by exercising 3 times a week means my blood circulation and heart muscles are improving. Win
2 – My over all mood seems to have improved. I feel a lot better, exercise releases dopamine which makes us feel happy. I now enjoy waking up and getting out of bed instead of sleeping in till 3 and then pottering off to work.
3 – I feel more confident. Knowing that I am actually loosing weight is starting to make me feel more proud of myself. My overall fitness is improving, so now in the gym I push myself more and more and literally couldn’t care what anyone else thinks now.
4 – I’m sleeping easier. Because I mainly exercise in the morning my body is burning calories all day and night, so when my head finally hits the pillow I’m passed out and wake up feeling even more refreshed because I’ve had a deep sleep.
5 – Physical appearance. Even though my tummy didn’t look like it was getting flatter, I noticed other parts of my body which I hated changing and each time I look in a mirror I’m reminded of my efforts and it motivates me to do more and do better.
So if you’re not happy with your body get down to the gym start watching and thinking about what you eat, and feel the difference for yourself. If you had told me to do this a year ago I would of laughed but now here I am and I would recommend it to everyone.
